Xingji Piao Kenny was born in a musical family in 1992, and began to study the piano at age four. He showed great promise from an early age, winning many competitions. He was study on a full scholarship with Department Head Professor Gabriel Kwok and graduated with the First Class Honors in BMus and Distinction in Master Degree at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.

He showed great promise from an early age, winning many competitions including the First Prize and four special prizes at the Fifth International Russian Music Piano Competition in San Jose in the United States, Second Prize and three special prizes at the 11th Grieg International Piano Competition in Norway (2010), Grand Prize at the HKGNA New York Debut Piano Competition and made an acclaimed debut at the New York Carnegie Hall (2010), Second Prize at the 21st International Piano Competition “Rome 2011” in Italy (2011).

In recent years, Piao has performed around the world. He performed concertos with the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra and the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra in 2005. He undertook a concert tour in China in 2006 and also performed in Austria, Poland, Italy and Hungary. In 2010, he made his debut at Carnegie Hall in New York City. In 2013, he gave a solo recital at the 41st Hong Kong Arts Festival. In 2014, he performed in Pordenone, Italy. It was well received with extensive media coverage in the local press. In addition, Radio 3 Rai, a major classical music radio channel in Italy, arranged for the broadcast of the concert to cities in Europe. And publish the CD.


In 2018, he founded “Bauhinia Trio” and “YNK Music Studio” with Violinist Zheng Yang and Cellist Jia Nan.
